A wedding day is such a special occasion and having had the privilege of helping many Bride-to-Be’s with their engagement rings, it is always so special to welcome them back for jewellery to be worn on The Big Day.
Tradition says it is an occasion for “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” and even today, our brides like to follow these rules. Many borrow pieces from their family collections, thrilled in the knowledge that generations past have also worn it on their wedding days. For these brides, we are able to resize or adapt to suit their style and bring a bit of the personality from the new generation.
But for many Brides, they are looking for ‘something new’ to wear on their wedding day, and what would be more fitting then a piece of jewellery that can then begin a new set of traditions and be worn again at another future wedding day?
For these Brides we discuss the whole style of the wedding – from the dress to the flowers and the bridesmaids. From the Boho Bride having a rustic, country wedding to the Vintage Bride who is channelling the glamour of the 1920’s jazz era, Noble Fine Jewellery has worked with them all, and here are our suggestions for the perfect pieces to go with each style of wedding.
The Romantic Bride
We are lucky to work with many brides at Noble Fine Jewellery, and most of them are preparing for a classic white wedding and walking down the aisle in a beautiful princess ballgown-style dress. For such a highly anticipated entrance, many of our brides have chosen our Pearl and Diamond Basket Earrings for a subtle sparkle under their veils that draws everyone’s attention away from the dress and back to their eyes.
The Boho Bride
The opposite to a Romantic Bride has to be the Boho Bride where formality has been replaced with a relaxed yet elegant vibe (think Karlie Kloss’s recent wedding in Wyoming – all off-the shoulder cowgirl meets supermodel in a field). For that simple and natural look, our "Kayla" and "Karly" necklaces layered and glittering in the evening sunshine would be stunning.
The Glamorous Bride
These brides are looking for more fashion then tradition, just look at Megan Markle whose stunning Givenchy gown would have been breathtaking on the red carpet as much as the aisle at Windsor Castle. So with this summer’s bridal fashion trends being capes (instead of veils) and jumpsuits (not dresses!?), we would recommend making a statement with our "Constellation" Yellow and White Diamond Bangle Bracelet.
The Vintage Bride
It’s so much fun being a guest at a vintage wedding because the attention to detail is where the romance happens – from the dress and accessories to the hair and make-up and flowers and décor, brides are able to take us back to their favourite bygone romantic era. One bride we worked with was having a 20s style wedding and wanted to complement her vintage engagement ring with accessories that complemented its art deco style, which is why our "Stellar" White and Yellow Diamond Earrings were so perfect for her.
The Colourful Bride
Not every bride wants to wear white and we love that this year’s favourite colour for summer weddings is lavender. And what better way to enhance the delicate dusty bluey purples with our "Rainbow" Fancy Coloured Diamond Earrings that will bring extra subtle colours to an already magical look? Or for a bold Bride looking to make a really dramatic fashion statement on her wedding day, our Natural Purple Sapphire and Diamond Flower Ring will be remembered always.
